Who are we?

We are three physiotherapists who are passionate about living a healthy lifestyle. The three of us connected through a shared vision to create something that can keep people who are passionate about their health continuing to do what drives them. All three of us love to lift weights, hike, snowboard, climb, cycle, run, or whatever else gets us moving. We recognize that pain and injury can be a difficult experience because they are often associated with taking you away from some of these things. That is why we are on a mission to help coach you back to performing at a high level. We have been drawn to Dundas, where we’ve seen how passionate people are about being active and living a healthy lifestyle. This is such a strong community, and the people around here care about each others well-being. We know that social support is pivotal to recovery when navigating a hardship such as pain and injury, and this is the perfect place to recover and thrive. Although our name implies that we are physiotherapists, we envision ourselves as much more than clinicians. We strive to be connecters and knowledge translators in the physiotherapy profession at large and now we aspire to be community builders in Dundas.

Why do we do what we do?

We do what we do because we want you to understand the resilience and adaptability of your body. Like many others, you may have been told by your friends, family, or even health care professionals that you shouldn’t do an activity because it’s dangerous or bad for your body. We believe these statements are harmful, and don’t take into consideration the great amount of context that is important when making such claims. Instead, we believe you can and should continue to do what you love, and want to empower you to understand your body so that you are optimistic about your future. We know that this can be a challenging leap for people because pain and injury can be a frightening experience. However, we believe that the more knowledgeable you are, the more you can be empowered to take control of your own health.

What is our mission?

Our mission is to empower people to take control of their own health. Physiotherapy is often seen as a place to focus on relieving pain and as a society we tend to view going to physio as a place where you will be less than you were before. We believe it can be more than this, we want to prove to you that by learning about your body, you will be empowered and can come out of physio performing just as well if not better than you were before. This mission shapes everything that we do in our clinic, from the design of the space, to the types of courses we take and the way we deliver our care. This also extends beyond our clinic, as we are very active on social media and our website. We post daily educational content on our instagram page including exercise videos, educational written content, and motivational content. We also have been connecting with leading clinicians in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation fields via the PTCoffeecast since 2017. We use this podcast to get people thinking, talking, and possibly change the way they view physiotherapy. Proudly we have posted over 100 episodes on the PTCoffeecast. On the local level, you should keep your eyes out for the move local podcast, where we will be connecting with the movers and shakers in the Dundas and Hamilton area. We will also be uploading educational ebooks and blogs in case you want to learn more about pain, strength & conditioning, wellness and how we are involved in the local community.
