We believe that giving people the time they deserve during every visit provides us with the insights required to provide the best quality care and most effective treatment plan to get people back to what they love more quickly. Through connecting with the fitness communities in the Dundas, Hamilton, Paris & Brantford areas we are able to better understand the needs of our active clients.

Physiotherapy Assessment, shoulder pain, back pain, hip pain, foot pain, knee pain, ankle sprain, rotator cuff tear

We start by discovering the root cause of your injury and explaining how it is driving the discomfort you’re feeling.

Reaching a clear and accurate diagnosis is pivotal in providing a clear path to recovery. We provide the time you deserve to fully uncover your symptoms and the contributing factors involved. Through a detailed 1 on 1 assessment with our physiotherapists you are provided with a diagnosis and a thorough understanding of the factors affecting your recovery.

We address your pain and help you understand what it means for your body and how to move past it.

Clinic FAQs

What should I expect when I come to The Movement Physio & Performance?

When you come to The Movement Physio, you can expect an unparalleled experience. When you come to our clinic you are more than just another client, you are a member of The Movement community. Most clinics will see you from 15-30 minutes and you are often passed off to an assistant to perform exercises. At The Movement, your appointment will be an hour long and will be 1 on 1 with a skilled physiotherapist 100% of the time. All of our physiotherapists are passionate about being active and care deeply about getting you back to what you love doing at the highest possible level. You can expect that we will challenge you physically by designing the right program and movements for you, your body, and your lifestyle. Our gym is fully stocked with the space and equipment to challenge you and your body. When you are with us we aim to help show you that you can do things you didn’t expect, and that we will always aim to help you develop preparedness for the demands of your life.

Are you able to provide physiotherapy during COVID-19?

Yes! As of May 26, 2020 Directive #2 has been amended to allow for all deferred, non-essential and elective services carried out by Health Care Providers to be gradually restarted, subjected to certain requirements. Our Dundas clinic is well suited to operate during the current new normal, given the size and layout of the brand new space. We have ~2300 square feet of space, four private treatment rooms, and nearly 1000 square feet of gym space. We will be wearing personal protective equipment such as masks, and it is expected that you will also be wearing a mask or will be provided with one upon entry into the building. Further, we have implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols. All the specifics of in-person visits and the protocols we have implemented to ensure patient and staff safety will be provided to you prior to your first visit in a detailed email outlining the process.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

When you come for your first appointment, all your forms will have been completed online prior to setting foot in our doors. This ensures that all you have to worry about is being ready to meet your physiotherapist. Our first appointment is all about hearing your story, which involves having a candid chat with your physiotherapist in a private room. We believe it is necessary to know as much as we can about you, your situation, and your pain/injury so that we can understand how to best serve you. The first appointment will involve a movement based assessment and performance tests to see how you’re moving, how your pain is affecting your movement, which movements are currently triggering your pain, and what your current functional capacity is. Finally, your physiotherapist will take the time to provide you with a clear plan including details about your next steps and how to access everything you need.

What should I bring to my physiotherapy appointment?

We plan on getting you moving during your appointments, and often require the ability to have access to the injured area. We expect that you will bring clothing that allows for you to move, exercise, and allow us to accurately assess your body part. Beyond the clothing you wear, please bring any relevant documents such as imaging, doctors notes, etc. This ensures that we can have everything we need to fully understand the nature of your injury to best inform our care.

Do you have free parking?

Yes! We have free parking spaces at the back of the building where you will find our main entry. Also, there is abundant street side parking and paid parking nearby if the back lot is full.

Do you bill my insurance?

When you finish your appointment and pay, we will provide you with an invoice that you can submit to insurance. We do not bill your insurance directly, this is to ensure that your time spent at the clinic is all time spent working towards your goals. With most insurance companies, this process is easier than ever and we will help guide you through that process as needed.
