Still Hurt? You Deserve Better Than That.

Most physio clinics leave active people frustrated β€” rushed visits, passive treatments, and a slow treadmill back to the sport or activity you love.

Rushed, Passive Sessions

15–20 minute appointments, ultrasound machines, and heat packs aren't a rehab plan. They're a holding pattern β€” and they're keeping you stuck.

Handed Off, Not Helped

Seeing a different person every visit β€” or spending most of your session with an assistant β€” means no continuity, no accountability, and no real progress.

No Path Back to Performance

Generic programs don't account for your sport, your load, or your goals. If nobody's asking about your marathon pace or your next climb, they're not rehabbing the right person.

Why Ancaster Athletes Choose The Movement

We built The Movement Physio & Performance because we knew athletes and active people deserved more than passive, cookie-cutter care. Every session is a full hour, always one-on-one with a registered physiotherapist β€” never handed off to an assistant. Our ~1,000 sq ft on-site performance gym means your rehab looks like real training: turf, squat racks, kettlebells, and a plan that builds you stronger than you came in.

  • 60-minute, 1:1 sessions with a registered physiotherapist β€” 100% of the time, no exceptions

  • Workouts tracked between visits through the True Coach app, with direct in-app messaging to your physio

  • Clinicians are athletes themselves β€” runners, climbers, powerlifters, CrossFitters β€” and consult for the Arc'teryx athlete team

Your Road Back to Peak Performance Starts Here

Step 1: Calm It Down

We start with a thorough one-hour assessment β€” an in-depth discussion of your history, goals, and a detailed movement exam. We identify what's driving your pain and give you immediate, tailored strategies to manage it and keep moving.

Step 2: Build It Up

This is where the real work happens. Using progressive therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, blood flow restriction (BFR) training, and manual therapy, we build strength and resilience back into your body. You leave every session stronger than you came in.

Step 3: Bridge the Gap

Return-to-performance work tailored to your sport and your goals β€” whether that's running Around the Bay, getting back on the climbing wall, or lifting heavy again. Objective return-to-sport testing ensures your body is genuinely ready, not just 'good enough.'

"The experience was great, and unlike any other physio clinic I had been to before. Through hour-long sessions in the gym that focused on strength training, I saw steady progress… He taught me so much about rehab, load management and how to handle nerve pain. I'd highly recommend The Movement to anyone."

β€” Dana Y.

"Dalton was my physiotherapist for a badly torn groin. He demonstrated an extensive knowledge of his craft and it seemed effortlessly came up with a plan and exercises along the way to get me back participating in my recreational hockey. I would highly recommend The Movement Physio & Performance."

β€” Kyle F.

"I came to The Movement thinking I would never fully recover and I left being better and more confident than pre-injury… After 2 months I was able to return to work on modified duties and within 3 months I was back full time duties and back to playing sports."

Common Questions

Everything you want to know before you book your first session at The Movement.

Do I need a doctor's referral to book?

No β€” we offer direct access physiotherapy, which means you can book directly without a referral from your doctor. Simply call us, request a discovery call, or book online. We'll match you with the right physiotherapist based on your goals and the sport or activity you want to get back to.

What makes your sessions different from other physio clinics?

Every session at The Movement is a full 60 minutes, one-on-one with a registered physiotherapist β€” not an assistant, not a tech. We have a ~1,000 sq ft on-site performance gym (turf, squat racks, kettlebells, and more) so rehab is active and strength-focused, never passive. Between visits, your workouts are programmed and tracked through the True Coach app, and you can message your physiotherapist directly in-app. Manual therapy, soft tissue work, acupuncture, and blood flow restriction (BFR) training are all included within your session β€” never billed as add-ons.

Do you direct bill my insurance?

We are a self-pay clinic, which means payment is collected at the time of your session. We provide detailed receipts that you can submit directly to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Many extended health plans cover physiotherapy β€” we recommend checking your benefits before your first visit. For pricing details, book a free 15-minute discovery call and we'll walk you through everything.
