MEET JESS
Recover. Rebuild. Reclaim.
Jess is excited to be back treating in the Hamilton community—and stepping into her newest role as a mom.
Becoming a mom has deepened her passion for helping other women recover, rebuild, and feel strong in their bodies again. Jess works with active moms who want more from their recovery—whether that’s returning to running, strength training, climbing, or simply feeling like themselves again.
Jess completed her Masters of Physiotherapy at McMaster University after earning a Kinesiology degree from the University of Waterloo. Her background as a strength and conditioning coach working with high-level youth athletes shapes her performance-based approach to rehab.
Jess takes an exercise and education-focused approach, helping women build strength, confidence, and capacity through every stage of recovery.
In addition to her clinical work, Jess is part of our performance consulting team and has worked with Arc’teryx, supporting athletes in trail running, climbing, and snowsports.
At her core, Jess believes motherhood isn’t a limitation—it’s an opportunity to rebuild and come back stronger.

We’ll work with you to come up with a plan that’s individualized to you and helps you get back to what you love. This plan will consider what was found during the initial assessment and also your personal goals and preferences.

FAQs
What is a pelvic health physio?
Pelvic health physio is a subset of physio that aims to help assess and treat issues related to the pelvic floor. A pelvic health physio has extra training so that they can effectively assess and treat this area. Research shows us that pelvic health dysfunction can take a large amount of women away from the things they love, when they often don’t need to. This is what we’re aiming to solve.
Will I need an internal exam?
An internal exam may or may not be recommended but your preferences and needs are always respected. Although internal exams can provide valuable information, there are many external assessments and treatments that can be performed and can lead to success if that’s what you prefer.
How early should I come in postpartum?
Despite the common narrative that you should wait 6-8 weeks postpartum we’re now seeing benefits of starting therapy with your pelvic physio as early as 2 weeks postpartum. No internal examination will be done at this stage but you’ll start some light movements to kickstart your postpartum journey. *Seeing your pelvic PT at the start of your pregnancy is even better.
Can I exercise during pregnancy?
There are lots of myths surrounding what you can or can’t do for exercise during pregnancy. More and more research is coming out that exercise is safe and actually beneficial during pregnancy. Pelvic physio’s can help guide you through your pregnancy journey to keep you exercising to the best of abilities.
*Exercise isn’t recommended for those with unexplained persistent vaginal bleeding, ruptured cervix, triplets, severe pre-eclampsia, placenta previa after 28 weeks, and uncontrolled thyroid.
If I’m not pregnant or postpartum is pelvic physio still for me?
Yes! Pelvic physio is important for anyone experiencing pelvic floor symptoms. Urinary incontinence is common in female athletes without pregnancy or postpartum. Pelvic floor symptoms have been shown to decrease female participation in exercise and negatively effect performance.
