Education and Advice
Why do we emphasize this?
Education and advice is a cornerstone of our care because we believe the more you understand about your situation, the more you can be empowered to take control of your own health. Most of your time is spent beyond our walls, which means by the time you leave our clinic we want to make sure you have the necessary education.
Helping you understand your problem.
At one hour in person, our sessions are longer than the typical physiotherapy appointments, which are often 15-30 minutes. They are also one-to-one with a physiotherapist, which gives you the time you deserve so you can ask questions and ensure our advice and education makes sense to you.
How do we provide education and advice to you?
During our sessions, we spend a lot of time collaborating with you to find out what questions you have about your pain/injury, how you are feeling during and after movement, and teaching you how to perform exercises relevant to your situation. Outside of the clinic, we keep in touch using the messaging system on the TrueCoach app and regular follow up emails discussing any key points from the session.

FAQs
Does this mean all we do is talk?
Absolutely not! We believe one of the best ways to learn is through experience, so most of our education occurs while doing exercise or performing manual assessments.
Will I be provided with resources?
At The Movement we are always creating more resources that we feel can be helpful for you. When appropriate, we provide sections of these resources that are relevant to your particular situation.
Will the concepts discussed be complicated?
Human bodies and pain are complex topics, but we try and use analogies and multiple ways of explaining things in simple terms (limited medical jargon) to see what resonates with you. Although these topics are certainly complex, the important aspects to understand are often simple.
